www.palfest.org is operated by the Palestine Festival of Literature under the registered charity name Engaged Events UK Limited.

We are a small organisation and do not currently have a statutory obligation to appoint a Data Protection Officer. Enquiries will be handled by a member of the PalFest team.

We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we process the personal data of individuals in the European Economic Area, the EU GDPR also applies.

What Information We Collect, Why, and Where It Is Stored

We only collect the personal data we need to run PalFest's activities. We do not knowingly collect more than is necessary for the purposes below.

Newsletter subscribers

●        Data collected: name and email address.

●        Purpose: to send the newsletter you signed up for.

●        Storage: securely on Beehiiv until the user submits a data deletion request

●        You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of any newsletter email.

Ticket buyers

●        Data collected: name, email address, and postcode.

●        Purpose: to process your booking, administer entry to the event and contact you with info. related to that booking.

●        If you buy a ticket to one of our events you are automatically enrolled in our mailing list

●        Storage: securely on TicketTailor for 12 months after the event.

●        You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of any newsletter email.

Feedback

We may occasionally contact people who have booked tickets or subscribed to the newsletter to ask for feedback on our events based on legitimate interests.

Marketing about future events and projects

With your consent, we will contact you about upcoming PalFest events and projects. You may withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing or by emailing info@palfest.org; we will act on your request promptly.

Website usage data

We will never knowingly collect more personal data than is strictly necessary to carry out the activities described in this policy, and we do not collect special category data (such as data about race, religion, health, or political opinion) as part of these activities. Our site uses no cookies beyond those strictly necessary.

Who We Share Your Data With

We share personal data with the following categories of third-party processors, only to the extent necessary for them to provide their service to us:

●        TicketTailor — ticketing and event booking.

●        Stripe – payment processing

●        Square – payment processing

We require all processors we work with to handle personal data securely and in accordance with data protection law. We do not disclose your data to any other third party except where required by law.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
